Paul Gustav Fischer was a Danish artist of the late 19th and early 20th centuries and is considered one of the most important painters of Danish modernism. Strongly inspired by French painting, he developed his own distinctive style, combining Impressionist and Realist elements. A central theme in his works is everyday life in the city of Copenhagen, as well as scenes from Denmark’s coastal beaches.
